What is Hypnosis?
Most people believe that hypnotherapy is something that is "done" to them!
Or that they will get the therapist to magically hypnotise the problem away!
Hypnosis commonly referred to as trance or relaxation is very ordinary in many ways, we go into it countless times a day, when we are driving, at the gym, watching tv etc....
We do it all the time!
It is a perfectly natural state in which YOU have control at all times.
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a much more collaborative process and its important to understand that change happens because you want it too and because you are prepared to take the necessary steps to allow it to happen.
And NO you are not put to sleep!!
Will I have to talk about my past?
No not at all. Solution Focused Hypnotherapy does not address the past in anyway. We will focus on the present and helping you to move forward in life.
There are two parts to a session in the first part we will use forward thinking and positive talk to help support you to move forward and not dwell on the past. We will celebrate your successes and the good things in your life and I will help guide you to find your own solutions to your problems.
In the second part you wont have to do anything other than sit back and listen to the sound of my voice with some relaxing music playing in the background.
Hypnosis is a special focusing of the consciousness which is brought about through relaxation, when we are in this state we have access to the subconscious mind, enabling us to make positive decisions and move forward in life!
